heard about this like, what was it, a couple weeks ago at perry hall. >> reporter: okay, at this point what authorities are asking parents to do is to make sure their guns are locked up. they said they're not giving too much information out about this particular case. what they're asking people to do is to make sure they buy very simple inexspean shiv things like trig -- inexpensive things like trigger locks. the student is identified as a 13-year-old 8th grader. they said what he did, achording to police, they said he -- according to police, they said he brought a gun. when class was over at 9:50, he pulled that gun out of list pocketed, pointed it at his class, the teacher and himself. as students started to flee, they said the teacher courageously put herself in front of the student, grappled with the student, knocked him to the floor and was able to pin him, hold him until a school resource officer arrived. the school will beef up resource officers. they said they're going to add more officers to different schools, beefing up their presence both in and outside of the school in orde

this comes just about two weeks since the perry hall high school incident, in which a student was shot. we were able to talk with a student who said he was in that class at the time of the incident. >> we were casually sitting in the classroom, and at the student left to go to the bathroom for 20 minutes, and then he came back and he was kind of teared up, and the teacher was like, what's wrong, and that he pulled the gun out, and she was like, put the gun down, put the gun down. he started swinging at around and ended it people, and he aimed it at the teacher, and then he aimed it at a different student. and then the teacher stepped in front of that student -- >> what was going through your mind when you are seeing all of this? >> i had grown up with the boy, i had known him since elementary school. >> you are hearing from a student who says he was in the classroom in which the 13-year- old brought that down to the classroom. the teacher at. knocked the gun out of the student's -- the teacher at that point not to the gun out of the student's had traded very tense moments. stemmer
